I just had this same problem, still haven't tried your way, worked ok with my dads but not moms.
This is what your example shows for entering birth dates: "DD MM YYYY"
In the world of data entry this translates to = 10 15 2015
It does NOT translate to = OCT 15 2015
Messed up!
