My actual email is gmail.com but Geni refuses to change my old addrees to my gmail.com

My original email address 017net.net that I used when I was added to my family tree. I have posted to Geni.com my new gmail.com email address but am unable to get a requested feedback/change. We are VERY worried that any error or misunderstanding may get into the family tree and destroy information. Please advise.
