Right now, the "Confirmed Matches" strip in profile view shows matches in the order they were confirmed, with the most recently confirmed matches at left and the older matches progressively moving right.
I'm requesting that the order be changed to 1) records and indices first, 2) newspapers and periodicals, and 3) SmartMatches.
That's the order of genealogical importance/value, which is why MyHeritage shows them in that order on their hints pages. It would ensure that BMD records stay in the most visible positions, which is important for citing. It would prioritize actual records over SmartMatches.
If there is a concern that people won't notice newer approved matches if they're pushed to the right, maybe a "New" icon can be employed when something has been approved since your last view or within the past month.
Hopefully even people who aren't fans of the strip -- and please, don't have that debate in the comments -- would support this proposal on the grounds that it would weight records above trees.
