Hi, My GEDCOM from WikiTree will not upload onto Geni, It is a .GED file, but on uploads it tells me its not.
I am not loading 4000+ profiles and updating existing ones individually, if there is no way to upload a GEDCOM, unfortunately Geni then not much use.
Implementation of the GEDCOM standard by various apps and websites is problematic. There are a few problems with GEDCOM files from WikiTree that might prevent them from being imported, like blank lines. I recommend you check the file with a GEDCOM validator. The one at http://ged-inline.elasticbeanstalk.com/validate is pretty good. It will tell you by line number what the problems are, and then you can edit them with Notepad or Text Edit (on a Mac). Alternatively, you could try importing the GEDCOM into a family tree program, re-export it, and then try uploading it to Geni.
