Duplicates issues

I only had a handful of perople in my Geni tree and merged a GED file from another. Now i have issues with being able to merge three particular people that have become duplicates. Me, my father and grandfather. They do not appear when I try to merge them. And I can't delete one of them, because they have connections.

Now I am thinking the best thing to do would be to delete the whole tree and re-import the GED file. How do I do that?

  As a result of some shared names in my tree, I have ended up with a duplicate issue.  A man took his wife's last name, and I entered the wrong parents as a result, hers for his.  Now, in the course of trying to correct, I have made duplicates for both of them.  I cannot figure out how to fix.  Please advise.  thanks in advance.
