can't remove family members

someone added non related members to my sisters profile

i'm trying to remove those members but can't

i should mention the profile is a merged profile, there are a lot of merges in the family tree and a lot of fake data due to celebrities in the family and people creating parrallel profiles and merging them

  I am unable to remove a family member.  Why can't that be in the edit function?

   

  The person does not want an online presence.

  Hi Amir,

  If there is an incorrect merge, you can reach out to a volunteer curator for help undoing the merge. Simply post your request in this public discussion https://www.geni.com/discussions/192543. They can also help with removing the incorrect relationships.

  Hi Kelley,

  There are several ways to delete a relative from the tree. In the Flash version of the tree, simply click on the x at the top right corner of the node. If you are using the HTML version, you can click on any space on the node to open the side panel. Then click "More" and select "Delete."

  There are some cases where you will not be able to easily delete a profile:

  • If your relative joined Geni and claimed their profile. If this is the case, then your relative will need to login to close their account. 
  • The person has other relatives attached to him or her, who would otherwise be disconnected from the tree. This can be handled by first deleting the attached relatives, which will then make your target person removable.
  • You do not have permission to edit the unclaimed profile.
