Keri Denise Jackson, ♊ Twin A, GEDMATCH GQ346442C1 You cannot upload a backup but you can do what I do and keep a copy on your computer. Sorry we do not have a backup option but Geni is a world tree or as I like to say "it is one huge tree with many branches" the branches being the immediate family or family members that are alive or have been within the last 150 years of Geni members and the bulk of the tree made up of all the public profiles (or at least all the ones we know about) throughout time. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else. :) Thank you.

Theresa Lucille Karsten (Ellis) Hi Keri, I see your answer "You cannot upload a backup but you can do what I do and keep a copy on your computer".
How do you "keep a copy"?
Thanks

Keri Denise Jackson, ♊ Twin A, GEDMATCH GQ346442C1 Go to the Research Link at the top of the geni webpage and then select Gedcom from the dropdown menu. Once on the page scroll towards the bottom and you should see a link that says Gedcom export page. Click on that link and then you should be able to download the gedcom when it is ready.
