Please can someone help me with what the protocols and copyright is if any of photos of deceased relatives from other sites and using them on Geni?
I am researching my family tree and amongst other things, specifically Jewish relatives who were murdered in the WWII Holocaust. I note that some have profile photos and others don't and that the memorial site Joods Monument has profile photos for some of the individuals.
From what I gather using google translate to translate the privacy statement from the Dutch, information and material uploaded to JM becomes public and can be used by third parties unless copyright is specified.
I am assuming this means I can upload their profile photos to Geni profiles from JM? (I have been giving the source of the photo in the profile). I have been doing this fo a few weeks, but thought I had better check with more experienced users as I am new to this since January.
