I have family members that have accepted my invitation to join my family tree. Once they edit their profile, I am locked out. If one of those family members passes away, I cannot edit to add the date of death. It is my family tree but I am locked out.

Jim Henderson Hello Richard,
This happens because at geni.com we are cooperating to build a single tree for the whole world, and this has tremendous advantages. Ideally, each person will be in the tree only once, so it is much easier to get the details correct. So we don't talk about "your tree" or "my tree", but always "our tree". (We can, though, talk about "your branch" or "my branch".)
Another great advantage of working at Geni is that you can build a branch back till it meets a person who is already in the tree. If the relatives match, you can ask the manager of that profile to merge his profile with the one you have just added, and if he agrees and does the merge, you gain access to all the work that he and others have done, without doing any work at all yourself :-)
That profile will have at least two managers then, and you can cooperate to get details such as BDM dates correct, and to add more photos to the tree. If you have worked at "separate tree" sites such as Ancestry or MyHeritage, you will have noticed how hard it is to get people to change incorrect details in their trees, even when you present evidence. At Geni you can ask a voluntary curator to help resolve discrepancies.
When you invite your cousin to join and she accepts, her profile becomes hers. As you have noticed, you can no longer change any details.
You have noticed the problem of what happens if she dies. Well, there is a procedure to resolve the problem, and it is described in the Geni help pages:
https://help.geni.com/hc/en-us/articles/229706547-How-do-I-report-a-profile-as-Deceased-You have made a very extensive branch, and I have noticed there is a place where you could perhaps graft it into the Whole World Tree, at
https://www.geni.com/people/Elias-Moore-Jr/6000000152479412839
(The blue "flag" on the profile alerted me to that potential merge.) If you click that blue flag, you will be able to start a free trial of Pro status at Geni and request the merge. You'll find that Pro status opens up a very good search feature that will help you look for other relatives.I hope this encourages you to keep contributing to the Whole World Tree at Geni, and that you find the process as interesting and satisfying as I do,

Grant A Jeffreys A few years ago, I made a mistake linking the wrong parents to a direct ancestor. (Very obvious when you look at the dates.)When I try to remove the connection, the remove box ghosts out, and will not remove the link to the wrong parents. How can this be fixed?
-
Torbjørn Igelkjøn You have to have a paid membership to be able to remove connections. I have now removed them. Can you check if the tree is now correct?

Grant A Jeffreys The mistake has now been fixed.
Thank you
