Hi,
I have three pairs of duplicate profiles in my family tree that need to be merged. When I attempt to merge them via the URL (e.g., /merge/compare/ID1?with=ID2), each one returns the message "This merge has already been completed" — yet the profiles clearly remain separate and unmerged. This is causing incorrect relationship calculations throughout my tree.
The most visible symptom: my own profile appears in my Recent Activity feed as my "second cousin" because the system traces a path through these unmerged duplicates.
Here are the three profile pairs that need to be merged:
1. Grandfather (root cause):
- Harrykissoon (Khanda): https://www.geni.com/people/Harrykissoon-Khanda/6000000008916651240
- Harrykissoon (Kandha): https://www.geni.com/people/Harrykissoon-Kandha/6000000009200720769
These share the same parents (Mangal and Sahodri) but are listed as half-brothers instead of being the same person. The only difference is a spelling variation (Khanda vs. Kandha).
2. Father:
- Doodnauth Harrykissoon: https://www.geni.com/people/Doodnauth-Harrykissoon/6000000008916346685
- Doodnauth Harrykissoon: https://www.geni.com/people/Doodnauth-Harrykissoon/6000000009263626152
3. Myself:
- Rajesh Harrykissoon: https://www.geni.com/people/Rajesh-Harrykissoon/6000000008934870604
- Rajesh Insham Harrykissoon: https://www.geni.com/people/Rajesh-Harrykissoon/6000000009263974834
The false relationship path (confirmed via Generate Diagram):
Rajesh Harrykissoon -> Doodnauth (profile A) -> Harrykissoon (Khanda) -> Mangal (only son) -> Harrykissoon (Kandha) -> Doodnauth (profile B) -> Rajesh Insham Harrykissoon
This results in the system calculating me as my own "second cousin."
Could a curator or admin please manually merge these three profile pairs? The grandfather pair (Khanda/Kandha) is the root cause — once that is merged, the cascading merges for father and self should follow.
Thank you for your help.
