I'd like to create a new connection between to 2 already existing profiles. In this case a man was married to 2 sisters one after the other. At this point I can't see a possibility without creating a cycle, which I don't want.
Any suggestions how I can do this, because removing the cycle leads to disconnecting the profiles.

Hi Menno, a Cycle is exactly the way to show this relationship in the tree. Is there a reason you do not want to create one?

A duplicate profile in my tree looks a bit disorganised to me. But most of all it seems unnecessary. It's a pity I can't send a prints screen to quickly make that clear.

Why not have 1 husband with 2 connections/lines: one with Amelia and one with Julia. No cylce necessary.

A cycle makes it so that you don't have to create a duplicate profile. It simply places the same profile in each part of the tree that the person belongs.
If you are viewing the tree with Samuel Hartz as the focus person, you will see his spouses as you describe https://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000088427435823
But if you change the tree focus to Amelia https://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000088427023929 , then you will see Samuel with x2 at the bottom left corner of his node which indicates that he is also connected to the tree elsewhere. Clicking on x2 will show you his other position in the tree.

Yes, I actually noticed that already.
Still, if I would have build this tree profile by profile, instead of making new connections between already existing profiles, then this cycle would not have appeared. Right?
