When a couple divorces and the profile manager(s) detaches one of the spouses, is that person's record deleted? Can I still search for it? After all, each spouse is still the parent of any children.

Job Waterreus The connection can be hidden or removed, that will not remove the profiles, so if that happens you can still search for the profiles.
If the profile is removed (as far as I know that cannot be done when there are children connected), the profile won't be found anymore if you seek for it (deleted profiles can be restored by the manager(s)).

Rhonda B COHEN Ive seen many cases where the child no longer has father and mother as previous record showed. So far, not been able to find the "missing" parent alone.

Job Waterreus For private profiles it is a bit more complicated.
A basic user can only find it when managed by that user or a collaborator (maybe also when it is in the family group, not sure about that)
