How do I search for profiles?

There are multiple ways to find profiles on Geni. 

To do a quick search, enter the name of the person you would like to find in the search box at the top of the page and hit "Enter."

You can also search for profiles directly from the Search page. 

1. Click Research at the top the page and select "Search"

2. Here you can use our advanced search options to specify your search further by adding more information. Once you've entered your search criteria, click "Search."

You may also search for profiles with custom profile facts. You can search for the text that appears in the label, field value, or both for custom profile facts. Note that you do not need to include any name fields when searching for custom profile facts. 

3. On the Search Results page, Master Profiles will appear at the top of the list. You can conduct a new search or further refine your search using the filters to the left.

Note: Search is a premium feature. Basic members may only access profiles they manage or collaborate on in the search results for free. These profiles are indicated with a green check mark.
