I do NOT like this where anyone can just add people to your tree..and you don't even know them...and the DNA match is not even helpful...I know I have a FREE account...when I went to the page to delete...it ONLY gave me two options and I don't like any of them..I want to DELETE..Not give my information to Geni and not to transfer my information to anyone else.

The terms of use for which you agreed to use Geni state that you agree that you will not delete Content in the Shared Family Tree except to correct inaccurate or offensive data. Geni is a shared collaborative tree and thus your tree is also someone else's tree. Removal of your profiles could break, disconnect or destroy another member's tree. Thus you have the option to donate those or transfer them.
I want to delete my tree too. Although I joined Geni in 2007 and entered my family tree I haven't looked at it again until now, Sep 2017. Now I find that people have entered several names after my ggg grandmother so now my line is all American. We are all Enbglish. I wish people would research and make sure the new people they're adding follows on.

If someone makes a family entry and a curator or someone else decides to be an interloper that is the risk those interlopers take for latching on.
When a Curator merges two or more trees they are creating those inaccuracies. If deletion of those inaccuracies effects another's tree that is entirely on the curator, or someone who has latched on.
Case in point, my tree lists people who have similar names but through research, I have found to be inaccurate, now want to delete. A warning comes up about breaking someone else's tree... That's not my problem or responsibility, I didn't create the merge!.
