Deleting my picture a relative added

Hi,

I had a very old picture of mine uploaded at some point by a relative (I can't even trace who). I am really very embarrassed by it and have joined Geni just now only to be able to submit this request to delete it.

This is damaging to my career and is one of the first pictures that shows up on googling my name. Could you please delete it permanently so that I can ask google to clear the cache (or if you could submit the request as the webmaster, if that is more effective)?

  I don't have the ability to delete it, but I can help you contact the manager or help you gain control over the profile so you can delete it yourself.  Do know that any deletion of a picture will take time before it will disappear out of search engine caches.

  Hi Jeff,

  Thanks a lot for the response. I managed to gain control over my dad's profile since it turned out that it was he who posted the picture. I deleted my profile picture (which was the picture I linked above) as well everything from the "Media" tab. For some reason, however, that link is still active. There is also the link to this larger version of the picture which is also alive. How can I remove these?

  When I click on the link to message you, I'm getting redirected to my own profile page.

  I'm not sure how to completely delete those (maybe via the photo manager), but by removing them from the profile (untagging), you've essentially made them inaccessible to search engines.  So, even though you can directly view it, Google will soon forget about it.
