uploading mtdna

I linked my autosomal dna through ftdna with geni several months ago when I first received my autosomal results. Now that I have done mtdna (also through ftdna) I would like those results to be shared on geni, however, I cannot find how to share them nor can I find a way to upload them on the dna tab on geni.  I don't want to disconnect my link to geni on the ftdna end (I imagine I could disconnect and then reconnect and all of my results would be shared with geni) I don't want to disconnect because over these three months or so I've done a LOT of work building my tree etc and I don't want to have to do it all over again.

Any suggestions??

  Have you ever noticed that several people can have a similar problem but nobody seems to know how to fix it?  I am sooooooo glad I am not paying for this!

  Peter,  here is what you have to do:  You have to go to your account on the upper right and choose account setting then choose applications.  When you are there you need to disconnect your connection between Geni and ftdna.  It will ask if you are sure and you tell it yes. 

  Then go to your ftdna and click the partner applications link at the bottom of your home or dashboard page.  It should show that you are connected to Geni and give you the option to disconnect from there as well.

  It will bring up a menu asking why - I chose "other" and went on to explain that there wasn't (but should be ) an easier way to upload new ftdna results...

  After it shows that you are disconnected just go back and reconnect -- on the ftdna partner applications end, just like you initially did when you first connected with Geni.

  I really don't know why it was so difficult for me to find this answer. I had to dig through the bowels of geni's q&a's to find it. I personally also think it sucks that geni doesn't offer any level of personal service to non paying customers.  They may get people to want to subscribe if they felt like someone cared! 

  Rant over.

  I hope this works for you.  It did for me, I had the new ftdna results uploaded and connected to geni in less than a minute.

  It worked perfectly for me an now I've got 1283 matching profiles för mt-DNA.

  As a pro member I have yet to get a response from them..... And thank you for what I assumed but wanted verification it would mess up anything

   Thank you, Cecile Ann.  I’ve been trying to figure this out for quite some time. I just tried it and it worked just as you said.
