Error with Edward Martindale Relation Path

I recently added a child to Elisha Martindale (1737-1809) profile. Elisha is Edward Martindale's (1690-1762) son. The child I added is Edward Curtis Martindale (1765-1842).

Now, Edward Curtis Martindale connects me to Edward Martindale's. I went through the process and made the connections necessary to do this. Edward Curtis Martindale's child is Hiram.

When I'm on Hiram's page, the Relationship Path shows he's my 5th great grandfather (correct). But on his father's page and back, it's says something like 2nd cousin 8 times removed....which hardly makes sense since Edward Curtis is Hiram's father.

Pathing values are cached by Geni for a period of time as they are computationally expensive to calculate. So the incorrect paths just represent an old cached value. The cache will expire after a time and a new path determined. However, these can be refreshed manually after a period of time by clicking the rotating arrows icon that will often appear next to the path. If the icon is not there and you feel it important to update the cache, a curator can force a recalculation of the path.
