Project profiles into alphabetical order

Our active locality project members have a need to sort project profiles also into alphabetical order.

Now it's hard to work with large projects because it's difficult to check which profiles have been added.

  If profiles are in alphabetical order in the projects, it would be easier

  • to find relatives 
  • to check double profiles
  • to understand the whole project content
  • to organize profiles between different projects
  • etc.

  The alphabethical order would really be a necessary and large improvement in Geni. So it is a warmly supportive initiative.

  As a workaround you can download the list and import it into a spreadsheet where you can sort etc.

  Hi,

  it is good to have this possibility but I am afraid basic users can´t use it. It would be be nice  to have a easier way to sort profiles.

  You already CAN sort profiles by a number of ways (and evidently Geni is not doing a good job promoting this feature). Do you see "show advanced controls" at the top of the list?

  

  In there you can sort by name (i.e. last name, then first name), ascending or descending, as well as filtering + sorting by variety of criteria.

  

  If it's a large project, you may tweak the URL directly, which for instance lets you jump to the middle of the alphabet (adding in the end "page=##").
