I set the wrong person as spouse, how to delete?

I did a mistake when making my tree. I added my relative Brita Kajsa Larsdotter (b. 1815) to my tree, and then first added the wrong husband (Halvor Guttormsen Engum, b. 1815), before I added the right one named Gustav Säf (b. 1812).
How can I now delete Halvor from the tree? I am told I can not because it will split the tree. But he does not belong in our tree. What to do?
