My 4th grandmother Brita Hiltunen (b.1800) has wrong parents in my ft, I tried to remove wrong ones but couldn't, wasn't allowable ..I changed in Brita's profile her birthday and middlename, because they were wrong too..
Right parents are not in my family tree at all, so my ft path goes new from Brita forward.
So how Im going to do this change?

I know this post is 2 1/2 years old, but why has it not been answered by anyone from the GENI team?
I have the same problem in my tree, where someone has added my 3th great-grandfathers 1st wife as one of the parents for a woman that is not related to my family. The woman's father is added as a wrongly named copy of my 3th great-grandfather.
Trying to remove the connection to the parents, it shows a warning that it will split the tree, and the Remove button is dimmed. I can't see any way of forcing the remove. I really do want to split the tree, because this branch is wrong.

This post is what came up when I did a google search.
I will certainly try with a public discussion on the profile, although this is not really specific to the profile, but a very general issue on how to get rid of a wrong pair of parents. Where do I find the ATTENTION Curators?
I have now added a second set of parents, with the correct names that I have found for the profile. But this does not solve the problem of not being allowed to break the connection to the wrong parents. I also merged the "copy" of my 3th great-grandfather and was able to remove the person who added the copy as administrator for my ancestor.
I have written to the person who added the profile, but have not received any answer yet. My hope is that he would be allowed to remove the connection to the wrong parents, because he is connected to the profile in another way.

Breaking connections is not a missing feature, - paying customers of Geni can do that.
Well, that was a clear answer.
It certainly explains why I am not allowed to break the connection.
I came up with the same conclusion by reading some other discussions.
Really annoying that someone can add a connection to your family, and then you need to pay (or know someone that has payed) to clean it up.
On the other hand it would be more annoying if anyone could split your tree.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't :-)
