I have an apparent Y Chromosome DNA match on this site but the profile is marked Private. This is the first Y DNA match I have found over many years as I am trying to find the surname of my illegitimate Great Grandfathers father. I notice there is a match to a "Hidden Vitt". This is interesting as my Great Grandfather was born under the name Vitt in Wyhl, Baden because that was his mothers name. I have never determined his biological father and tried Y DNA out of desperation. I wanted to find out more on this apparent Vitt whose Y DNA supposedly matches mine but there is no way to contact him as he or she is marked Private Vitt. Is there any way to get a message to this person to see if we really do match? I have never had a match on any other site.
