On some people in my tree I can edit their profile and change to deceased and on others I can edit their profile as well, however I cannot change to deceased. I don't understand why, as none of them have claimed their profile. Please help.

Job Waterreus The first seems to be a user but you are visible as a manager, so it could be he never fully claimed his profile or that he closed his account. Geni staf should be able to tell you which.
His wife is a private profile with another manager.

Geni Support Team Hi Jacek. Job is correct. The reason you are unable to update the living status of the profile is because the account is claimed. However you still have the ability to edit it because they hadn't set their permanent password. We have now unclaimed the account so that you may update the profile to reflect their passing.
For future reference, if a relative has claimed their account, you will need to report their profile as Deceased via the Actions button on their profile page. Once our customer service team reviews the report, they will be able to unclaim the account.
