I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes.
About 5 years ago I cancelled an account I had with My Heritage for various reasons. I was at the time assured that all of my data would be deleted and that if I signed up with them again I would have to start my tree over.
I signed up to Geni about 4 years ago popping in and out of Pro when I can afford it. My issue is that Geni is sending me Smart Matches from my 'deleted' My Heritage account. The reason I know this is that the 'matches' have exactly the same mistakes and the manager is listed as myself! Of course to see these matches I have to pay!
My Heritage has ignored my requests for an explanation and I do not know of any organisation to approach to help get this sorted. Is it even legal?!
Any suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.
