email account changed email in use

I no longer have access to my email account dolp@new.rr.com so I wanted to add a new email account that I own. dan.olp@gmail.com but it says it is already in use. When I try to log on with dan.olp@gmail.com I don't know the password. I tried to reset it but when I send the reset it says it sends it to d**p@n********m. I do not get a password reset email. 

Please advise.
