When trying to access my notified matches, the program opens into an introduction to Geni and associated fees. Cannot access matches from any attempt to gain the information.

Job Waterreus Viewing matches is a Pro feature (see What are the benefits of a Geni Pro membership?)
Please keep in mind that Geni will indicate a POSSIBLE match when at least one of the given names and last name match and the profiles overlap in the period alive. So there will be very many false matches.
In most cases you can find those POSSIBLE matches with a little more work, so there is no obligation to become a PRO user, but it will make it much easier to find those matches.
Other users can see those possible matches as well, so they may do some merging for you. Merging will almost always create tree- and data conflicts. Please try to solve those when you do merge profiles.
