I am now unable to do any searching on Geni without being confronted with an ad asking me to try out Geni Pro. I do not want to participate in this trial, but just wish to use Geni as I always have in the past. Please make this ad go away! it is an unacceptable business practice.

Job Waterreus As a basic user you can only use the Geni search for profiles that you or your collaborators manage. You can use an external search engine like Google to search for any public profile however.

Tõnu Kalam So this is a change from how it has been previously. I used to be able to look up anyone on Geni without paying extra.

Geni Support Team Hi Tõnu, as previously noted, full access to search results has been a premium feature for many years.
Basic users may only access profiles they manage or collaborate on in search results for free. These profiles are indicated by a green checkmark.
