I've had a tree on Geni for a while but am just now learning how to navigate through my tree.
Yesterday, I attempted to attach my newly researched branch and this morning I found another website changed my profiles. I understand I'm new and may have unintentionally merged with people that don't agree with my direction.
I did send the managers a letter apologizing if I intruded especially without introducing myself. But as far as I'm concerned their understanding of this family is from old inaccuracies I'd rather not include on my tree. I'd like not to interfere with their tree, but I think I merged my profiles erroneously and they changed something they didn't want changed in their tree.
The files that were changed took me a while especially since this is a new program for me. Maybe I need a better understanding of how to interact with other trees on the system without disturbing the work of others. This could have been this other family welcoming me into their website, and my profiles interfered with theirs, which would be very embarrassing.
I just need to disattach from their website...How do I do that?
