Remove/delete my tree

I need to remove my tree.

I feel that Geni is wrong to allow people to edit my tree information and be able to merge my tree with others just because someone wants to. 

This a breach of trust. 
This should be stopped.

I never consented to my data/tree/research being added BY SOMEONE ELSE to the GWT. This leads to all sorts of issues with privacy and GDPR. I will be seeking advice from people involved in GDPR regulations about this. 

 Please can you tell us how to delete the tree?
Now you can only view/edit a tree in HTML you cannot delete a person.
Why do I have to close the account to remove a tree?

  Hello Neil and Jennifer,

  I've been searching for the same information. Did you get any help on how to remove your account and entire tree?

  I feel the same as you mentioned - I feel it is not acceptable for the data I shared freely in good faith at Geni to be copied word for word to My Heritage who then ask for a subscription for anyone to access it, including myself when they tell me there is a data match -  when in fact it is data from me in the first place. I made all my family profiles private some time ago thinking they would also be made private on My Heritage - but it seems this is not the case.

  Did you get any help with it all? Grateful for any advice.

  I've submitted a Data Subject Access Request demanding all personal data held about me is permanently deleted. I couldn't find the contact details of their Data Protection Officer so I've submitted my request to the only email address I could find - subscriptions@geni.com. Article 12 of GDPR says data subjects are entitled to contact anyone within the organisation by various means, including electronically. Typically DSARs for the right to be forgotten must be completed within 30 days. The particular legislation to quote is Article 17 GDPR - Right to Erasure (https://gdpr-info.eu/art-17-gdpr/).
