My family tree was defined by a person who is no longer managing it.
I want to claim to be manager but I can't do it since this action does not appear o n my options.
Can one direct me how to claim this ?
Thanks, Moshe Asseo

You can claim management of profiles in your family group from the actions menu on those profiles.
What can I do if the actions menu on those profiles does not show that option of claiming management of the profile ?
I have seen that button on the education video but I cannt see it live on my family tree entering those profiles.
That should only happen when they are outside your family group.
Which options do you see in the actions menu (first 5)?
following are the first 5 options that I can see on my father's profile -
Send Gift
Remove from Family Group
Remove from Collaborators
Block this User
GEDCOM Export
From that list it means that your father is a user, so no one else can manage his profile.
If a user is deceased you can report that to Geni from the actions profile of that user. When Geni staff has checked it they will release the profile so management can be taken over by a user in the family group (please check your settings for profile management https://www.geni.com/account_settings/managed_profiles)
After so many years of being the administrator of the profiles I have added to my tree, all of a sudden and without any notice, I have been removed practically from most of them,,,and on top of that, wherever I am included as an administrator there is another person (Maria Elena Koopman), originally a collaborator, whom I am not allowed to remove
Lilian Huhn,
Could it be you have not been active for a longer time? If that is the case someone could have reported you as inactive.
If Geni decides the period of inactivity is long enough and there is another user in your family group that is active this user could be added by Geni to the private profiles you manage, so requests for actions could be handled by that family member.
You can add yourself to profiles in your family group and remove non family members from managing them (first add yourself).
For public profiles you can request management from the actions menu of those profiles, but there is little difference between a manager and other users for those profiles.
If you still have problems please ask for assistance in https://www.geni.com/discussions/216411

From the action menu, I would guess your father is a user. You cannot manage the profile for another user. If he does not use Geni anymore he could close his account so you could take over management.
