The DNA tab shows the quality of the match for me: Otteliaana Jäppinen is your fourth cousin twice removed's wife's second cousin twice removed. The correct match quality would be: Otteliaana Jäppinen is your second great grandmother. Is there any way to fix this?

Geni Support Team Hi Mari, we show both the blood path and the in-law path to your second great grandmother Otteliaana Jäppinen. These are based on connections as they exist in the tree.

Mari Hyytiäinen Hey! I know that at the top of the profile, both blood relations and marriage relations are displayed. I mean the relationship shown on the DNA tab. In the case of my grandfather (younger Herman Jäppinen 1895-1983), when you click on show the information in the autosomal DNA section, it is correct, Herman's granddaughter for me and Herman's great grandson for my son. For his father (elder Herman Jäppinen 1855-1923), my son is correct, Herman's second great grandson, but for me it is Herman's third cousin once removed's husband's fourth cousin twice removed. That's not how it should work.

Geni Support Team Thanks for clarifying. We'll take a look.

Geni Support Team Hi Mari, we fixed this to exclude in-law relationship paths in the DNA tab. Although, this now leaves the relationship blank. If you click "view details" in the autosomal section, you will be able to see a list of those with autosomal DNA and that person's relationship to the profile.

Mari Hyytiäinen Hey! This still isn't correct. I just added my brother's dna result to Geni and when I looked at the dna matches of this profile, he correctly shows Antti's third great grandson and my son correctly shows Antti's fourth great grandson. I have Antti's uncle's fifth great niece. https://www.geni.com/people/Antti-Tuhkanen/6000000141926930851#/tab/dna
