This isn't an idea it is a BUG REPORT. Ancestral relationships are not being shown as the shortest path. That creates a real problem when trying to match up DNA trees.
Sarah Sallie Bledsoe is my PATERNAL 4th great-aunt but the relationship is only being drawn via my MATERNAL line:
"Sarah Sallie Bledsoe is your 10th cousin five times removed" even though her brother is showing up correctly as my 4th great-grandfather and her father and mother are showing correctly as a 5th great-grandparents.
