Someone who I don't know, who won't identify themselves, has entered incorrect info about my family. I want this person identified and stopped from entering incorrect info, but I can't get the info deleted. How can someone who is not related to me enter info about my parents without accuracy? What kind of a site are you running? I feel very violated and feel you are perpetuating a fraud. My parents are both dead, so they cannot speak for themselves.

Pam Wilson, Curator Debra, first, no one can enter information about your parents, if their profiles are private, unless they are family group members. It is likely that whoever has added information about your family is a distant relative and had your branch of the family as part of their family tree. Their name should normally be listed as manager of the profile (or co-manager, if the profiles have been merged). Since this is a collaborative site, you should be able to work with that person to request to be added to management of your parents' and family profiles, if you are not already, and you will then be able to correct the misinformation.
Generally, profiles within 4 generations of you are by default private profiles. You can request family group membership with the manager of any profile and that will give you editing access to their managed profiles.

Rennie (Randy) Innis When I click the button to Request to Edit Profile, it offers to send a notification to my dead step-mother.
What will happen then?

Michael Medley But what happens if the existing manager of the profile is not collaborative and does not add you to the management of the profiles?

Pam Wilson, Curator Rennie and Michael, when the normal processes don't work, or if someone who previously had claimed a Geni profile has died, you need to contact help@geni.com to get Customer Service to resolve the situation.

Rennie (Randy) Innis Yes. I have done that. No response.
Is there a telephone number to call for help?

Debra Rubin-Margolin I have tried for months to get the "manager" of the profiles to respond, to no avail. "Cathy" is listed as the manager of 145 profiles - she's listing my parents, grandparents, cousins, and sister, but not my brother or myself. My sister may like the idea that she has no siblings, but that was ended in 1955 when I was born, and 1958 when my brother was born. I can't get "Cathy" to respond to my repeated requests to identify herself and correct her errors. How is this different from identity theft? And why would Geni.com want to support this type of activity? It puts Geni in a very poor light.

Charles Burden I know this is a little late coming, but I have the same issue with another on Geni. {incorrect family added}. I've sent this person a note explaining my reason for question, I can prove their info is 100% wrong, but still I've heard nothing and feel I've wasted my time and effort's in trying to show them the mistake. Issue is, if they won't respond back, you cannot correct mistake's and then this lead's to more corupted family info. One particular item {Doc} they are showing,{ I have the original,} so this tell's me they are copying from other site's.
