I have seen the earlier answer by Sabrina to this topic and have tried the method she has suggested. However, I am quite confused as to w tress can be opened in view at the same time. Is there a way of doing it?
On the rectangular node I cannot see the word MORE that she is referring to.
Possibly I am doing something wrong.
Any advice?

Most browsers have multiple tabs, open a second tree in another tab (or in another browser window if need be). Select the "More" and "Move" option, which should bring up that profile in a little box. Switch over to the other tab or browser window and refresh. That should bring the little box over to that screen. Then drag the profile over the other profile.

Hmmm, ok.. let's try this little URL hack.
Every profile has a profile ID that can be seen in the browser destination link. If you look that the browser URL (starts with http://www.geni.com/), you'll see a profile ID in the link. For example, your profile URL is http://www.geni.com/people/Rudy-Lobo/6000000002557744163
This ID is useful. Open up the two profiles that you want to merge and note the profile ID on the two profiles (If there are two, it will be the first one. If you had linked through another profile it will have ID?through=ID. It's the first ID.).
Copy the below URL into a new browser tab, but don't click go or hit enter.
http://www.geni.com/merge/compare/ID1?to=ID2
Replace ID1 with the ID of the first profile and ID2 with the ID of the second profile. Then click go / hit enter. This should bring you a page that compares the two profiles, which you should be able to confirm the match for merge.

Any suggestions?

Here is some additional information that might also be helpful.
Sorry Jeff. Didn't work. The message read "PAGE NOt FOUND" - meaning the compare profiles page could not be opened..

Rudy, it appears that other profile was either deleted or merged and I don't see any duplicates around it. Are you still seeing a duplicate in your tree? Point me to the profiles and I'll see what I can do.

I am not quite sure what the best approach is. I am quite confused myself. Let me explain what my problem is.
What i have done is to input the same lot of people twice. Once to my branch of the tree and the second time to another person's tree who is also related to me. She had previously set up the tree before I joined Geni.
Ideally I would like to merge all the profiles I have input to both the branches. I want to make sure this does not uproot anyone else's input to these 2 branches of the tree.
Examples of the duplicate profiles are: xxxLobo 1st ID 7266104145 2nd ID 10179042875
Alex Lobo 1st ID 7160915081 2nd ID 7111589319
Rest of the profiles in question are descendants of the above. Ideally I want to merge 2nd IDs with the 1st.
The other option is perhaps to sent mergers requests to the other person who set up the tree to which I have attached the 2nd profiles. She is Bibiana D'souza (Fernandes).
Do you think this is the easier solution?

Rudy, I started to merge some of those profiles (since some were public, they were available to me as a curator). Others are still private, so they still need to be merged. However, you should not see a triangle exclamation on some of these profiles /!\. If you click on these, you should be able to resolve the remaining merge issues. It's now one tree and probably looks a little ugly at the moment, with many duplicates, but once you get it all merged together you'll have your complete tree.
