Clark Packard and his son Todd have an 'About' section of their profile, yet Lauren Packard, Clark's daughter, doesn't. I can edit Clark and Todd's profiles, but I have no way to edit Lauren's profile either, although I entered her and am the only manager. Is there something different about Lauren, that things are missing?

Being able to see or edit About Me depends on if the profile is claimed or not and if it is public or private. By default user profiles are not editable by family members. It can be changed in http://www.geni.com/account_settings/permissions/ but only for your own profile.
When you invite a relative to a profile you have added then at first the profile is still managed by you. Once s/he sets a permanent password the profile is no longer managed by you and About Me "disappears". You can however tag users in documents (Media tab).
As I said, I am the Manager, the only manager. I added the profile, I did not 'invite a relative to a profile', whatever that means. I MANAGE THE PROFILE.
A search for Lauren Packard (daughter of Clark, sister of Todd) returns 2 profiles. One of them is unclaimed and managed by a relative of her husband. The second one is no longer managed by you as it says:

Perhaps it wasn't you who added an email address to her profile, any user in your family group may have done that.
