how can someone give me permission to co-manage everything that they manage?

Jeff, Geni Curator Sort of, if they invite you into their family group, that will give you access to the private profiles they added (but not the private profiles of their family members, which they could edit). They can then make you a collaborator, which would give you permission to edit all their public profiles.
