Jeff, Geni Curator It's been put in as a suggestion, by me in fact. Give it a "Me too!"

Rita Seidman I would like to stop birthday greetings and put in date of death

David Sherman I had an aunt and uncle (unrelated to each other) both pass away recently. I can edit my aunt's information to record the death, because she didn't have an account. My uncle had a Geni email and might have been on Geni himself, I'm not sure, but I have no way of editing his entry to show he passed away. There should be some way to record a death of a "member".

Laurie Fox My mother died last July, just 3 weeks short of her 88th birthday. It was extremely disturbing to the family to be "reminded" of her birthday, even though we had TRIED (unsuccessfully) to record the fact that she had died. There MUST be a way!!!

Laurie Fox I finally found this info in the FAQ section. Presumably once you've "reported" the info, Geni will do SOMETHING with it!
How can I update the profile for someone who is deceased?

Otherwise, if they have claimed their profile, you may simply navigate to their profile page, click "Actions" and select "Report." Choose "Deceased" from the drop down and please provide a brief comment. Lastly, click "Submit."
Or if you are a Geni Plus or Pro, you may send us their name and email address and we will be happy to further assist you with this.
