can´t merge any profiles

On my home page i have 27 merge issues but i can´t resolve these. When i take - View Pending Merge- it will show me 2 profiles and on the top is question- Are these profiles of the same person? - They are and at the bottom i choose- Yes, merge these profiles-. After that it offers me Geni Pro but if i don´t want it then at the bottom is- No thanks, continue. If i press that it takes me back to question- Are these profiles of the same person?  

Same problem is when im going to my tree. Like there´s my uncle profile 2 times. If i choose move then after that i have to merge his profiles but can´t too that either. 

Do i really have to buy Pro version to merge profiles?

  At the moment, yes - only pro accounts can merge profiles.

  If the profiles are public, you can request a pro member merge them for you on the discussion board.

  Is this going to change back to how it used to be, or will this be permanent? If it is going to be permanent, could you please remove all my merge requests as I am unable to do anything about them.
