Jeff, Geni Curator By default, private profiles are only accessible / visible to family members. One you join, the user is in control of the privacy level, which can be configured under Privacy Settings & Account Settings.

The option under permissions for "Let the public search for me (profile privacy settings apply)" is what allows Google to identify that you have a profile on Geni.
