Permanently deleted user To delete someone from your family tree click the small ‘x’ in the upper right hand corner of their box. Also, because building a family tree is a collaborative process, there are three cases where you will not be able to remove a person:
1. That person has joined Geni and "claimed" their profile. If this is the case, that claimed user must cancel directly from their account under 'Account Settings' and Close Account.
Have they already activated their accounts? If so, they must login and go here: http://www.geni.com/account_settings/close_account to close each of their own accounts.
2. That person has other relatives attached to him or her, who would otherwise be disconnected from the tree.
This can be handled by first deleting the attached relatives, which will then make your target person removable.
3. You do not have permission to edit that unclaimed Profile. If you do not manage those Profiles, ask the Manager for assistance.

Brent Yager I have not used Geni for 5 years and recently did a Google search and you must have changed your privacy policies as much of our personal information is now public. I want to delete my account but it is asking for my profiles that I manage to be transferred to someone else. NO. I want EVERYTHING deleted and removed. How do I do this?

Jeff, Geni Curator Brent, if you go into your account settings, permissions (http://www.geni.com/account_settings/permissions/5685693775440034593), you can uncheck this option: Let the public search for me (profile privacy settings apply). This is what allows Google to index the information that you've allowed in your profile privacy (http://www.geni.com/account_settings/profile_privacy).
Also, all profiles that you manage that are living will be private and non-searchable via Google.
As for deleting all your profiles at once, Geni does not have an option for this. Geni is a collaborative and shared tree, so it's difficult to do as deleting content affects other relatives in the tree.
