Fixing errors

It is impossible to fix errors.  Geni is very frustrating.  I don't want to enter anymore info without being able to change mistakes.

  I agree, it is an obvious flaw - I don't object to including disputed or uncertain links, but if you contact the original poster seeking verification or correction, or to determine the source for their data (which could well be better than mine in some cases, and get no response for an extended period - it probably means someone has abandoned Geni. I'd suggest you add a feature which allows users to assert claimed errors, cite their sources, and then let multiple users see the claimed error and "vote" - and if a vast majority agree its wrong, either remove the error or at least dispaly it in a different manner or unlink it for those who think its an error.   I've seen obvious errors - people linking people with over 100 years difference in birth years - probably just careless entries by a perosn who doesn't pay attendtion - but there seems to be no way to correct those erros.

  I attached an uncle to the wrong Aunt by mistake.  I saw something about removing their parents first and then removing the error, it didn't work.  Then I saw that you could move a person, so I tried that.

  Now I have one Uncle connected to two Aunt's, it's only getting worse.

  Take a closer look in the Relationships tab when you edit a profile, and be patient: After a while there pops up an option to cut parent and spouse connections.

  Started to try to build my tree.  My sister appeared on the left side of me instead of the right.  When i added my husband to the right of me another empty box appeared that has no little x and i cannot delete.  There is obviously too many problems with this program so I will try to find something more user friendly.

  Frieda, - have you set the birth order on both?
  Secondly: The way a generation is listed depends on which profile you have your focus on when viewing the tree. Try to click on the tree option on your father to focus on him.
