Hi Kochava - Your relative did indeed log into Geni and claim her account. Now that she owns her own account, she's in charge of making updates to her own information. By default, we don't allow users to edit profiles that belong to other users. if your relative agrees that you should be able to change her profile information, she can go to Account Settings > Permissions and check the checkbox that reads "Allow my family to edit my profile". Then you'll have access to make updates to her profile.
What if I have invited a family member but put the wrong email address down and now need to correct it to the right email address, how do I edit it? This is a security issue because otherwise the wrong person could claim the account and then we would have somebody we don't know having access to our family tree which we obviously don't want. Hello Neil:
You may update the email address information via their Profile page and the 'Edit Profile' button. However, if someone has already claimed that account using that email address-they will need to contact us directly asking that we remove their email address on their behalf.
