I can't delete my aunt.

Hello Community :)

I have a problem. I can't remove my aunt from my family tree. (She's a duplicate, she's been created by mistake.)

This page should have helped me but it didn't: http://help.geni.com/entries/469469-How-do-I-delete-someone-from-my-tree-

1. That person has joined Geni and "claimed" their profile.

This can't be. I never invited my aunt, she doesn't even have an e-mail address, nor does she use the internet.

2. That person has other relatives attached to him or her, who would otherwise be disconnected from the tree.

Apparently, she doesn't have any connections. If I go to the Relationships page, I see this though: http://i.imgur.com/9qkYxjy.png
But when I try to delete that unknown spouse, I get the "Warning: Removing these connections will split the tree.": http://i.imgur.com/SDei9Mk.png

3. You do not have permission to edit that unclaimed Profile. 

This is not very specific, but as I'm the manager of her account (http://i.imgur.com/nqncfKI.png) and I can change her data, my permissions should be enough to delete it.

Any ideas? Is this a bug in the system? If so, could any of the admins help me (and probably, others) out on this?

  The fact that you still have edit access to her profile, except removing email and delete it, tells me that the profile claim is not permanently because permanent password is not set, - which you are forced to when becoming active and enters your account settings.
  It is probably someone who accidentally have entered an email into that profile and the invited user never returned because it was not correct.
  Have you tried to contact the user? Making contact and simply ask him/her to close the account is best, but since password is not set he/she probably have no way to recover the account without involving Geni staff.

  If you send me a link to her profile using the  Geni messaging system I can, as a curator, cut her loose and just let her float away so that you can add a new profile.

  Errrm... I probably didn't explain the situation correctly.

  There is no email address set for her: http://i.imgur.com/5hIlaRr.png - and never was.

  And I about "contacting the user": who shall I contact? I'm the manager of the account and as I mentioned in my question, my aunt does not use the internet.

  I sent you the link to her profile, and I understand that you can fix this individual issue manually, but I still think this is a general bug to be resolved.

  You wrote "That person has joined Geni and "claimed" their profile.", so I assumed that was the issue, because neither you or me as a curator would see her email since it is personal, unless her setting allowed you as a family member.

  Since I got a link to the profile from you I can see the reason why you have no option to delete the profile, and it is caused by a currently error in Geni, hopefully fixed soon.

  If you look at your own screenshot, http://i.imgur.com/9qkYxjy.png, you will see that she have an Unknown spouse attached, and since only leaf nodes can be deleted your aunt could not be deleted because it is a binding between her family and this Unknown.

  I have removed this Unknown for you, and you should have the option to delete her profile now (or merge it into her sister).

  I have a similar issue. I'm set up as married to my Great (great great great great great) grandmother. I can't delete the marriage (which obviously never occurred) says I have to split the tree.
  Any idea how to fix this ... cause I'm not my own grandma ;p
