As I have been expanding my Tree and adding many people I am finding that some of the names in the resulting nodes are coming up in light print and not in bold. There does not seem to be any particular reason, seems quite random. I much prefer the bold and wonder why this is happening and how it can be amended?

The "scaling" of the font used in the "Tree View" (which is what I presume you are referring to) changes with the length of the name, in order to fit a reasonable amount of the full "Display Name" into the 'box' on the Tree. That is what is currently done to keep the overall "Tree View" useful yet "clean" by having all the 'boxes' the same size.
Sometimes it the view of a newly-created/edited profile will not be what is expected in the box; in that case one can close that particular "Tree View" and re-open it (e.g.: from your 'Home' page).
