Removing stacked duplicates

In this tree there are 2 entries where one name is stacked on what is probably another copy of the same name.

Cheri Freund is stacked with Cheri DeSurdis Freund.

Thomas Freund Sr is stacked with Thomas Freund Sr. I think both copies are Sr. I changed the entry to Sr.

I read the help section and don't get it.

Clicking on the x does not remove a copy. I get a message that says this person is connected to others etc. This is true.

How do I fix this? Can you help me?

Tom, it appears that you got it strait as I don't see the stacked duplicates any longer. What you are probably seeing is a merge request between those profiles. Someone has identified them as duplicates that need to be merged. Here is some additional information on merges. http://help.geni.com/entries/461179-what-is-a-merge-request
