I am now paying $34.95 for Ancestry.com each month. I would like to know if Geni.com has the same amount of information for the U.S. and world wide versions. If they do, then I will definitely switch.

So your looking for data services, such as census, marriage, birth records and such? Geni has a limited amount of this with free services, but will be including the data services provided by My Heritage in the near future. Right now Geni is primarily the family tree portion (done in a collaborative way to connect you into the larger world family tree). Probably the best tool for free research is www.familysearch.org At the moment, I'm also paying for an Ancestry membership for the data services (I think they're probably the best in this area), but I prefer Geni as a social collaborative family tree. I only have to build my tree to a certain amount before matches appear and I can connect into an existing tree, where we can pool our labor and source the family details, stories, etc.
