I'm trying to change the profile manager of my second removed cousin's profile and make her the manager of her profile and I'm not given the option to add her as the manager. Why?

Jeff, Geni Curator The list that Geni offers is one based on people you follow, visited recently, but you can add in the user's id (which is in the url) and search. So there should be a few ways to make it come up. However, it would seem that the better option would be to merge the two profiles, allowing her to have complete control over a single profile of herself, then gaining some permission to the profiles around her as the duplicates are merged. If you need any help in this, just let me know and I can either add her as a manager, initiate the merge (if it's an isolated tree) or merge her profile.

Gergana Krusteva-Georgieva Hello Jeff! Thank you very much for your reply! I tried all of the suggestions you listed:
1. I started following the user, then copied the ID and used it in the search, but I wasn't allowed to add her as the manager of her profile
2. Then, I successfully merged her profile and tried again to change the manager
However, I still can't make her the manager of her profile. Can please you help? Thanks in advance!

Bjørn P. Brox You say: "I wasn't allowed to add her as the manager of her profile", - does this mean that she is a Geni user herself and the profile is listed with a manager?
Claimed/User profiles does not have managers, - they are always the manager of their own profile, but in a middle stage after getting invited to Geni the profile still have managers and can be edited by relatives. Once she have set a permanent password their profile are locked down and becomes a regular user profile.
She are forced to set a permanent password when entering any action that require that, or she can visit this page ans set it directly: http://www.geni.com/account_settings/all_account_settings

Jeff, Geni Curator Gergana, I expect that Bjorn is correct, but if you want either of us to look at it, just let us know the name of the person.

Gergana Krusteva-Georgieva Thanks, guys!
In reply to Bjorn - yes, she is a Geni user/member and her profile is listed with two managers - one of them is myself and the other is her grandmother. I tried to invite her so she can claim her account, but I wasn't given the option (it's strange I can invite only certain users).
Her name is Nina Kirova - I'll appreciate it very much if you suggest ways she could claim her account.
Thanks again!

Jeff, Geni Curator Gergana, Nina is not old enough to join Geni, which is why you don't get an option to invite her. As part of Geni's efforts to protect children and comply with U.S. law (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) the software restricts you from adding the email address of anyone under 13 years of age.

Gergana Krusteva-Georgieva OK, Jeff, I understand.
Thanks for your help!
