Smart matches have shown up on my profile, no way to delete them, when I click on the delete button it goes to a screen to want me to pay more money for a my Heritage subscription, what's up with that?

Bjørn P. Brox Why should you delete them?

Steve Fritz Sr. Hi Bjorn,
Because they are not the same person, not a match at all.

Robert Craig Bliss I simply do not want to see them. I have not elected to pay for a MyHeritage subscription, so they are of no use to me at this time. They clutter the screen with useless iconic buttons, especially in the tree view, and actually *obscure* the local (Geni) matches in the tree view. They have made my experience at Geni *worse*. I simply want to disable Record Matches and Smart Matches.

Carol Vernice Eads I agree with Robert...I do not want to see them as they clutter up my tree and make it harder to see the GENI matches, which I have paid for. I do not want to pay for any other information as my tree is quite large and gives me plenty to research for the rest of my life (if I wanted to!). Can these be removed somehow?

Robert Fredrik Thorén I totally agree on this one! I primarily work with my geni pro subscription. I now have more than 433 Smart Matches that clutter and obscure my geni work. Since I do not have a my heritage subscription I can do nothing with this and not my famlily either, Worst bit in my opinion is the HUGE icon of the smart match attached to my profiles. SInce it has NO meaning in the geni context it would be helpful to hide or at least hava a very very small icon regarding these types of matches. What happens if you match multiple my heritage matches? The whole profile with these icons OR?
A related problem, having 433 matches, most of them smart matches, it is impossible to look at NEW matches since there is no filtering to see only new matches. (At the top in the litte icon it signals red 3 new, however I can not find them!)
Filter and hide option IS always the best way to go. Thanks!

Sheryl Levin (Stern) I have a tree on My Heritage also (and a data subscription). The problem is now I am getting Smart matches to my own tree! Is there any way to prevent this? I have over 3300 people in my tree on My Heritage, it will take forever to go through them all in the hopes that I actually link to a different tree.

Bjørn P. Brox Sheryl, if using the same email on both sites matches should not show up, - but I don't know if this is working since I am not using MyHeritage myself.
They did also for some weeks ago add a new option for MyHeritage users to hide matches to Geni and other third-part sites: "Enable Smart Matching™ with other MyHeritage websites and partners"

Sheryl Levin (Stern) Bjorn, I do use the same email address for both sites, so that function is not working. However I did as you suggested and unchecked the box allowing smart matches with third party sites (ie Geni) and that seems to have eliminated the connections between my trees. Thanks for your help!
