Blocking Curators / Locking a set of family profiles

We had a curator come in to our family tree recently, per a request from another Geni member, and merged our tree with a tree with incorrect info, and did this without checking for accuracy nor asking anyone in our family! This action created a total mess. I have been in contact with Geni management, submitted a ticket, the curator has reversed some items, etc, etc.

 

- My first question is, can curators be blocked from interfering with our family tree?

- My second question is, as a manager of a set of family profiles, is there some way of locking my profiles so NO ONE can interfere without asking me?

  I believe the answer to both those questions is no.  Geni is a shared world tree built on collaboration.  Mistakes can happen and I'm sure the curator regrets the incorrect action.  The only thing we can do is work to fix it.  If you're looking for an isolated tree where you're in full control, I suggest MyHeritage.

  Thank you for the answer. I thought as much, but am glad to have the clarification. Fixes are being done as I write this. Mostly incorrect birth dates and such.

  BTW, I hold nothing against Curators! :-)  (I must have tunnel vision the past 2 and a half years I've been on Geni - this was the first time I really understand how much a curator can do!)
