How to delete when tree is a mess?

tree is a mess--lots of incorrect connections. Thought I would delete inaccurate info by deleting person entirely and then re inputting them. Only way I can see because no way to move to correct position. Once again I go to list hover over a name and only "action' is to email them or something equally useless. PLEASE, how to fix or at least how to delete a name??

Here are more details to help you solve my problem: I put Michoel Ron's email address into the box beside my ex sister in laws mother (Beverly Goldberg) as a way to invite him to visit the site. Now he appears as being married to my ex daughter in laws father (Jacob Goldberg) -- one problem. There are multiple colored lines connecting them and other unrelated people. I invited Michoel to view our tree putting his address into a couple of deceased members, never thinking that the emails would create a family link. As I didn’t yet know how MR was related, I wanted him to visit the site to see who he knew since there seemed no other way to allow him viewing privileges. I managed to delete Mindy's daughters but couldnt do the same with Mindy ofrher father. She actually no longer belongs on our tree now that her daughters have been deleted; is there any way to remove her short of asking her to do it herself? More important than her being on the tree (which is really a non issue by itself) is that she is mis-associated with Michoel Ronn, distorting family connections throughout the tree. THIS IS WHERE I NEED HELP--cutting the ties between the two names and seeing how we can repair whatever we might lose in the process. The tree is no longer functional in its present form. PLEASE HELP!!

If you can tell us which profile is incorrect and how it needs to be fixed, curators can probably help you do so. As for editing it or deleting it, I'd have to see which profile you're talking about.

Why aren't individuals allowed to make these changes to their own profiles? Why must "curators" be contacted?

In most cases, they can. It depends what profile you're talking about and what you're trying to do. For example, if the profile is claimed, then only that person can edit their profile, unless they set their account options to allow family members to edit profiles. Age is another thing.. managers can set their options so only they can edit it for children under 13. Maybe another manager blocked you. Maybe it's outside your family group (private need family group, public need collaboration). Maybe the field or profile was locked by a curator. Maybe it's a feature, like splitting a tree, that is reserved for pro membership. Maybe it's a bug. I don't know the situation or the profile, so I can't say why you can't edit something. If you want to provide an example or link and describe what you're trying to do, we can give you more information and help you.

My brother set up my acct/profile using my ex-husband name linked to my email address. I tried to edit my profile with my name but family members like sisters and grandparents are showing up listed as ex-wife's sister and grandparents. Can't I delete the acct and start over?

I have a non-related person who has taken over my tree as well. He is adding unrelated people and creating profiles for my immediate family. He has moved my tree from 27 to 119 people in a month by trolling my FAG records. I have asked him to stop but, he continues. This should not be allowed and my privacy settings are useless. Now I want to delete me tree but, cannot figure out how.

Khanani Family tree has been started by me and brother .my full name is Abdul Karim Khanani and my brother's name is Akbar Khanani. On my side I am adding our ancestors and decadence to our family tree. But on opening Geni website it welcomes my mother Mrs.Hajiani Sakinbai Khanani. To open web I put my email address KHANANI@HOTMAIL.COM AND PASSWORD. So can U replace and fix my name instead of my mothers name?
