I'm looking for the key to the family tree page. Does anyone know where it is? For example, what does a blue line mean? What does a dashed line or a red line mean? And on the find a link to historic persons feature, why are some ancestors in red? I'm sure this information is on the site somewhere but I haven't been able to locate it yet. Can anyone please point me to it?

What I can see are only black and grey lines. Then I know that some people see also blue, green and red lines.

The information about the line colors seems to be extremely well hidden.
I don't know there is any big meaning to the line colors. The black line is your direct ancestor path. The gray line ties in siblings and spouse relationships. The dashes indicate a ex-relationship. The other colors I think are just to help you identify in the larger tree the path for multiple relationships (marriages) and their children.
I'd like to place a bug report for the way the blue line works in the Family tree. It is of outmost importance for users that the blue line only connects blood relatives. Surely the whole idea of a blood line and the connected DNA is broken if adopted children are connected through a blue line to their adoptive parents. I think this quality problem should be addressed as soon as possible.

I have heard that the blue line for adopted children is not a technical problem, but a personal choice of a manager of Geni. It seems that the fatherly love is only functioning if the line is blue. I, personally, would love adopted children as much as blood line children regardless of a colour of a line in Geni. Many others see it in the same way.
Unfortunately, the 2nd manager of this tree has incorrect information associated with my grandmother and the relationships are not accurate at all.
